A little preparation goes a long way.
A practical checking process—not a blanket entry promise for every passport.
Check four things together
Check your actual document, purpose, length of stay and arrival/departure routing together. Foreign ordinary passports, documents used by Taiwan residents and children’s documents may involve different requirements. Another traveller’s experience does not establish your eligibility.
A source-checking sequence
Start with the National Immigration Administration and the relevant Chinese embassy or consulate. Check the notice date, eligible document types, permitted purposes and stay conditions, then confirm boarding documents with the airline. Travel articles can point you to a source; they cannot replace it.
Transit is a separate question
For transit arrangements, check the arrival port, onward journey, permitted area and other conditions separately. A return ticket alone does not settle eligibility. Resolve the conditions before finalising your route.
What to share during planning
At enquiry stage, share document category and departure location—not passport numbers or images in public comments or a general enquiry form. Submit booking identity details later through an agreed channel for a specified purpose.
