A little preparation goes a long way.
Give each day a clear focus rather than filling every gap.
Give the Wall its own plan
Choose the Great Wall section, then discuss the vehicle, cableway and manageable walking. The photograph shows Mutianyu. A cableway is not a guarantee of an effortless or step-free visit.
Keep a city day focused
Distribute palace history, hutong life and museums according to interests. If a popular reservation is unconfirmed, agree on alternatives rather than promising entry.
Count complete days
For a short stay, choose fewer anchors. For deeper visits, interpretation and family rest, discuss additional full days. A Beijing–Jiangnan combination also needs its own intercity travel time rather than a simple merger of two itineraries.
